SOLD - Garrard 401 with SME 3001 tonearm
This Garrard 401 (Serial no: 27645) is working exactly as you would expect. I have had the motor professionally serviced and it is lovely and quiet.
The Garrard is mounted in a wooden plinth with hinging lid. I have seen this exact set-up elsewhere, so this is not a home-made creation, but a complete unit. The plinth is in good condition, with one scratch on one side (photographed) that does not dig into the wood badly and could easily be cosmetically improved. The plinth is isolated by ultra rare Micro-Seiki feet - these are very difficult to find and usually fall apart - these are complete. The lid has no cracks or bad scratches (one slightly unsightly scratch on the leading edge) but is dulled from the typical surface abrasions that come with age. I have facilities here to polish turntable lids back to near as-new, so if you would like this, the cost is £50.
The turntable comes with an SME 3009 tonearm (serial number 168975) with fixed headshell which I have not tested as the fitted cartridge is lacking a stylus and has no markings to identify it. I'm sure most buying this item will use their own cartridge anyway. The tonearm is otherwise complete.
This is a very heavy item which I am loath to post. I am happy to drive within two hours of Taunton in Somerset to meet you FOC. I also regularly drive around the country, so may be able to combine a trip to drop off the deck to you. Please contact me to discuss this possibility. I will not post this item abroad, so please don't ask. If postage within the UK is a must, please contact me first to see if I can deliver.
The photographs show the actual item being sold. I use a studio to show the items in as much detail as possible.
