Linn Majik Isobarik speakers - Piano black in superb condition
Here is a rare pair of Linn Majik Isobarik speakers, not to be confused with the far more common Majik 140s. These are a completely different animal. These come with all their original packaging and I have the spikes and also the protective tweeter 'caps' for transit.
This pair of speakers come in Linn's optional and very expensive (I think an £800 option at the time) piano black finish, which is utterly stunning. I believe these speakers therefore cost over £4500 when new. Condition of the cabinets is excellent and almost unmarked. They look utterly stunning. One speaker has a light scratch on the top which has not gone through the black finish but it just noticeable under certain lights... I can't get it on a picture. This same speaker was also damaged in transit many years ago, when the lower front edge obviously had a knock. This chipped a bit of the veneer out (about 1cm square from the side panel) and the previous owner simply covered it with a bit of black tape and didn't worry about it. I have now filled the chip with hard black resin which has not only stabilised the area but, after polishing, it largely unnoticeable from any normal distance... if you look closely you can just make it out and the last photograph certainly makes it look worse than it is.
These Isobarik speakers obviously sound spectacular (and come with the standard wood base panels) and have the facility to either be driven by a single amplifier or by a Linn Majik 6100 amplifier with its multiple options to drive each driver individually, or with multiple power amps. If you are looking at this listing I suspect you will already know all about these speakers.
These are super heavy and, despite having the original packaging, I will not be posting them in the conventional way, but am offering to deliver them myself anywhere within England and Wales for the standard postage cost listed (£50). You may have to work with me a bit in terms of exactly which day I can drop them to you, but this is really the only safe way to get them to you. You are, of course, welcome to pick them up if you prefer. There will be no international postage offered.
These speakers are incredibly difficult to photograph as they reflect everything around them. I think these pics show them quite well.
Any questions please ask.
